Lambda Kappa Mu Kopelles

LKM Kopelles,

Lambda Kappa Mu Sorority, Inc., extends its interest in young women through the Kopelles Youth Program. A national group, the Kopelles Youth Program was established in 1962 by Dr. Catherine Cowell to focus on improving the lives of girls and young women. The program strives to build leadership skills in young women by promoting good citizenship, cultural enlightenment, and academic achievement. Each Sorority chapter is encouraged to sponsor a group of Kopelles to ensure that they are prepared to be productive members of society.

The program is steered by the National Youth Committee under the direction of the National Youth Coordinator. The committee meets three times a year. The Kopelles hold an annual National Youth Retreat with the assistance of the Kopelle Chapter Coordinators, the National Youth Coordinator, and the National Kopelle Officers.

Mission

Being a Kopelle provides diverse opportunities for young women to support each other through dedication, commitment, service, and loyalty to their communities. These tenets support  academic excellence, unity of spirit, moral dignity, and lasting friendships.
